About CalcHive
Independently built. Always free. No accounts.
Why this exists
CalcHive started because I kept getting tired of the same thing, every time I needed a quick number, the first three search results were bloated, ad-walled, login-gated, or tried to upsell me a subscription. All I wanted was an answer. A measurement converted. A percentage. A loan payment. Five seconds of math.
So I started building the tools myself. Then more of them. Then I realized other people probably wanted the same thing, quick answers, mobile-friendly, no friction. So I kept going.
CalcHive is the result. It's a growing collection of free, browser-based calculators for the moment you just need to figure something out.
Who it's for
The person I picture when I'm building this: a teacher with four minutes between classes, looking up how to convert a recipe for the science demo this afternoon. A parent on the sidelines of a soccer game, trying to figure out how much sod to order. A small-business owner double-checking a margin before sending a quote. A college student doing a quick percentage calculation. A handyman pricing a job from the parking lot of a hardware store.
If you need a number now, and you don't want to download an app or create an account to get it, CalcHive is built for you.
What you'll find here
Right now, CalcHive covers seven categories of calculators:
- Finance: mortgage, loans, take-home pay, Social Security, retirement, taxes
- Cooking: measurement conversions, recipe scaling, oven temps, ingredient swaps
- Measurement: length, weight, volume, unit pricing, square footage
- Time: durations, time-zones, ages, countdowns
- Math: percent change, fractions, percentages, averages, ratios
- Health: BMI, calorie burn, water intake, heart rate zones
- DIY: paint coverage, sod, tip splitter, board feet, fuel economy
Not every calculator is live yet. New tools are added every week. If there's something you wish existed here, let me know: I actually read those.
How it works
Every calculator on CalcHive runs entirely in your browser. The numbers you type are never sent to a server. There are no accounts, no signups, no email collection. The site is free because it's supported by lightweight, unobtrusive ads, never above-the-fold, never blocking the answer, never tracking you across the internet beyond what you've opted into.
The tools are designed to give you a result first and an explanation second. Type in your inputs, get the answer. If you want to know how it got there, the breakdown is right below, never on a separate page, never behind a "Learn more" link that takes you somewhere else.
Who built it
CalcHive is independently built and maintained by JAE's AI Consulting Solutions, a small web-design and AI-automation studio operated by JAE's Holding Solutions LLC in Florida. The studio also builds custom websites and AI-powered automations for small businesses, but CalcHive is its own thing, built as a public-facing project and personal sandbox for trying out modern web techniques.
If you want to know more about the studio's other work, you can reach out via the Contact page.
The mission
Build a growing library of lightweight tools that solve real-world problems in seconds. No fluff. No clutter. No nonsense.
That's it. That's the whole mission.
