US vs Imperial volume (important)
US and Imperial (UK) gallons are different sizes. A US gallon is 3.785 liters; an Imperial gallon is 4.546 liters, about 20 percent larger. This trips people up constantly when comparing fuel economy, recipes, or product packaging across regions. This calculator distinguishes them explicitly so you do not accidentally convert through the wrong system.
