Counting down to any future date and time. The display updates every second, so you can leave the tab open and watch it tick. Useful for tracking the time until a deadline, vacation, product launch, sports event, baby's due date, retirement, or anything else with a fixed future date.
How accurate is it
The calculator uses your computer's clock, which is typically accurate to within a few seconds (better if your computer syncs to internet time). For atomic-clock precision, see specialized timekeeping references.
Time zones
The target date and time are interpreted in your local time zone. If you need to count down to an event in a different time zone, convert the event time to your local time first. For example, a NYC concert at 8 PM ET is 5 PM PT for someone on the west coast.
Daylight saving time
The countdown handles daylight saving automatically because it works in real elapsed milliseconds. Crossing a DST boundary will not affect the displayed countdown total.
